STEP 1: SIGNING UP WITH DETACHMENT 90
Provide Detachment 90 Your Contact Information
- Fill out our Perspective Cadet Contact Information Form located HERE.
- Please ensure that all contact information is correct.
Create an AFROTC WINGs Account & Complete the AFROTC Application
- Create an AFROTC WINGs account and initiate your application HERE.
- You will complete the application to include all civil involvements and past offenses with law enforcement. You will need all copies of tickets, court sentences, fines, etc. This will include speeding tickets. Parking tickets are not required to be reported. If you have questions of what to report–ASK!
- DO NOT upload any of the preformatted forms provided in WINGs. We will fill those out with you on Activation Day.
- Obtain your Selective Service Number (Males 18+).
Sign-Up for a Virtual Information Session
- Fall 2025 students will be required to attend one summer virtual session. These will be hosted every other week from 22 May to 31 July.
- We will be offering two sessions each day. The first will gear toward graduating seniors, joining in FA25, to give an overview of the program requirements, time commitment, cadet experience and activation preparation instructions. The second will target rising high school seniors, interested in joining FA26 and looking for more information on the AFROTC program/experience and the High School Scholarship Process.

Register for Required Aerospace Studies Courses
You must be a full-time student at CSU, UNC, FRCC, or Aims CC to be a member of AFROTC Detachment 90. For undergraduate students you must maintain at a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester. Graduate students must maintain 9 credit hours per semester.
If you are a transfer student, sophomore or higher, graduate student, or prior military you must still be able to do a minimum of 3-years in AFROTC.
Please sign up for the classes below based on your situation. If you are unsure of your situation, please reach out to us and we can assist you in what category you fall under. For those starting in the Spring of your Freshman year, you are doing a minimum of 3.5 years:

*We can potentially waive AS100 requirements for prior military service. If we confirm AS100 is waived, you will just sign up for 200-level courses.
Complete Your Sports Physical & Physical Fitness Assessment
- Schedule a sports physical within 30 days of Activation Day (Fall 2025 – 20-21 August) and download our sports physical form HERE. Please have your physician fill out our form to the maximum extent possible. The sports physical form must be completed by Activation Day.
- For prior-service applicants, a valid (within 1 year) AF Form 422 will suffice.
- Prior to Activation Day, complete a Physical Fitness Assessment (download the form HERE) and record your results. This can be proctored by your parents or friends. We have partnered with our Health & Exercise Science department and this data will be helpful for them to see where our new cadets’ fitness levels are. Bring your completed form with you on Activation Day.
