COLONEL KIP B. TURAIN - Commander


Col. Kip B. Turain is commander of the Air Force Reserve Officers Training Corps (AFROTC) Detachment 90, Fort Collins, Colorado. Detachment 90 is one of 145 AFROTC detachments, subordinate to the Holm Center, Maxwell AFB, Alabama. In this capacity, Col Turain leads approximately 145 cadets through a college-level officer training program while serving as the senior Air Force officer at the university, ultimately determining who is commissioned. In addition, Col Turain chairs the Department of Aerospace Studies with university status of full professor and instructs a curriculum covering Foundations of the U. S. Air Force, Air Force History, Leadership and National Security Affairs.

Col Turain received his commission through the United States Air Force Academy in 1988.

 

 

MAJOR CHRISTIANE MAKELA - Operations Flt Commander/Operations Officer


Major Christiane Makela is She is the Operations Flight Commander as well as the Operations Officer, Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps Detachment 90, Colorado State University, Fort Collins, Colorado. She also serves as Assistant Professor of Aerospace Sciences and teaches AS300 at both Colorado State University in Fort Collins and University of Northern Colorado.

Maj Makela received her commission through AFROTC at Arizona State University in 2004.

 

 

 

CAPTAIN ASHLEY HAZEL - Recruiting Flt Commander


Capt Ashley Hazel is currently assigned as the Recruiting Flight Commander, Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps Detachment 90, Colorado State University, Fort Collins, Colorado. She also serves as Assistant Professor of Aerospace Studies and teaches AS100 at both Colorado State University and the University of Northern Colorado. 

Capt Hazel received her commission through AFROTC at California State University San Bernardino in 2010.

 

 

 

 

CAPTAIN JESSICA WHITNEY - Assistant Ops Flt Commander


Captain Jessica Whitney is currently assigned as the Education Flight Commander, Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps Detachment 90, Colorado State University, Fort Collins, Colorado. She also serves as Assistant Professor of Aerospace Studies and teaches AS100 at both Colorado State University and the University of Northern Colorado.

Capt Whitney received her commission through the United States Air Force Academy in 2010.

 

 

 

CAPTAIN ADAM NIEDERHISER - Education Flt Commander


Capt Adam Niederhiser is currently assigned as the Education Flight Commander, Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps Detachment 90, Colorado State University, Fort Collins, Colorado. He also serves as Assistant Professor of Aerospace Studies and teaches AS200 at both Colorado State University and the University of Northern Colorado. 

Capt Niederhiser received his commission through AFROTC at Kent State University in 2012. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice.

 

 

 

TSGT AIYSHA BARNO - NCOIC Personnel


TSgt Aiysha Barno is assigned as NCOIC of Personnel, Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps Detachment 90, Colorado State University, Fort Collins, Colorado. She oversees all cadet actions and programs during the 4 year life cycle of cadets.

TSgt Barno entered active duty in 1998. She has completed Airman Leadership School and Non-Commissioned Officer Academy. She holds Associates degrees in Human Resource Management, Arts, Science, and Business Administration.

 

 

 

SSGT MATTHEW McGAHEY - NCOIC Administration Management


SSgt Matthew McGahey is assigned as NCOIC of Administration Management, Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps Detachment 90, Colorado State University, Fort Collins, Colorado. He manages all cadet financial and pay actions.

SSgt McGahey entered active duty in 2009. He has completed Airman Leadership School and is working towards an Associates degree in Information Technology.

 

 

 

 

SRA MARY BRYSON - Personnel


SrA Mary Bryson is assigned as a Personnel Technician, Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps Detachment 90, Colorado State University, Fort Collins, Colorado. She assists with all cadet actions and provides administrative support for the cadets.

SrA Bryson entered active duty in 2009. She is working towards an Associates Degree in Human Resource Management.
